And the answers I came up with definitely lacked any detail to engage my son with the answers.

Suffice to say I didn’t impress him with my answers.
I also spoke with someone yesterday to share some feedback about an interview process that they were ultimately unsuccessful for, despite on the whole performing well across the conversations.
In the end there was another applicant who the client felt was ‘more aligned’ and had done a ‘slightly’ better job of connecting their career history, skills and expertise to the needs of the business today.
In short, their narrative cut through a little more meaningfully.
‘I haven’t had the practice telling my story so knew I didn’t quite showcase my career as well as I probably should have, Christian’ was their ultimate summation.
They were right….but is that a surprise given the relative infrequency most people have with a job search?
